The new year brings in new excitement for all the movie buffs out there! 2023 is filled with some of the most awaited Bollywood movies. From Shahrukh Khan's back-to-back movies to Prabhas two big releases, this year is going to be very exciting, not to mention, Kartik Aryan's two anticipated blockbusters along with Ranveer Singh-Aliaa Bhatt starrer Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. Monthly Releases of 2023
January
1. Kuttey (13th January 2023):
Arjun Kapoor is starting this year with the adventure-comedy Kuttey which unfolds the story of three stary gangs who cross each others paths on a thriller mission. The film also features Tabu and Naseeruddin Shah.
2. Mission Majnu (20th January 2023):
Sidharth Malhotra is back again with a patriotic drama, which is based on true events. Story of a spy who is off to save his country, Mission Majnu releases on Netflix which also features Rashmika Mandanna.
3. Pathaan (25th January 2023):
Directed by War-fame Sidharth Anand, Pathan is definitely one of the most awaited movies of this year, since it marks the comeback of the Badshah of Bollywood SRK after 4 years. The film also features Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in leading roles.
February
1. Shehzada (12th February 2023):
Kartik Aryan is all set to make his mark in the Hindi remake of the Telugu hit Ala Vaikunthapuramloo. The film also stars Kriti Sanon, making it their second film together. Shehzadaa is all set to release this February.
2. Selfiee (24th February 2023):
Dharma Production brings in a unique combination of Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi in Selfiee. This is the Hindi remake of the Malayalam language movie Driving License, this film definitely has twists that you might not even expect!
March
1. Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway (3rd March 2023):
Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway is an upcoming Bollywood drama film which is inspired by true events. The Rani Mukherjee starrer unfolds the story of an Indian mother's struggle to win the case of her children's custody.
2. Tu Jhooti Main Makaar (8th March 2023):
Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor are pairing up for the first time in the romantic comedy Tu Jhooti Main Makaar which is set to release in March. The Luv-Ranjan directorial also stars Dimple Kapadia and Boney Kapoor in leading roles.
3. Bholaa (30th March 2023):
Ajay Devgn's Bholaa is the Hindi remake of the Tamil hit Kaithi. The film is set for a March release which also stars Tabu, making it their tenth film together. Apart from playing the lead role Ajay Devgn is also the director of this action thriller.
April
1. Bawaal (7th April 2023):
Chhichore fame Nitesh Tiwari is coming back with a romantic-comedy Bawaal in early April of this year. The much anticipated Bollywood movie features Varun Dhawan and Jhanvi Kapoor in lead roles.
2. Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan (21st April 2023):
Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan has an ensemble star cast featuring Salman Khan, Venkatesh, Pooja Hegde, and Shehnaaz Gill. The movie is coming to the theatres in April. Salman Khan is surely following his tradition of releasing his movies during Eid al-Fitr.
3. Rocky Aur Raani Ki Prem Kahaani (28th April 2023):
Karan Johar is making a comeback as a director with Rocky Aur Raani Ki Prem Kahaani. The film stars Aliaa Bhatt and Ranveer Singh in lead roles, making it their second film together after the all-time Bollywood hit Gully Boy. The film also features Shabana Azmi and Dharmendra in prominent roles.
May
1. Maidaan (12th May 2023):
Based on the life of the former Indian football player and coach, Syed Abdul Rahim, this upcoming film stars Ajay Devgn in the lead role. The film was set for a release in 2021, but got postponed due to the pandemic and is all set to release in the month of May this year. The film also stars Gajraj Rao and Priyamani in eminent roles.
June
1. Jawaan (2nd June 2023):
Shah Rukh Khan's second release of the year Jawan is directed by Atlee, one of the most prominent directors from the South. The film also features stars like Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi. It is rumoured that popular stars like Deepika Padukone, Ajay Devgn and Thalapathy Vijay are to make a cameo in this movie.
2. Adipurush (16th June 2023):
Prabhas' Adipurush is an adaptation of the Indian epic Ramayana. Apart from all the adverse responses to the trailer released last year, director Om Raut has promised to rework the visual effects to make it a better visual experience. It stars Kriti Sanon, Saif Ali Khan and Sunny Singh in lead roles.
3. Dream Girl 2 (29th June 2023):
After the success of the prequel Dream Girl, Ayushmann Khurrana is coming back with Dream Girl 2. The film stars Ananya Panday as the female lead. This comedy-drama is set to release at June end of this year.
4. Satyaprem Ki Katha (29th June 2023):
Yet another anticipated movie of this year, Satyaprem Ki Katha is a romantic musical comedy. Kartik Aryan is paired opposite Kiara Advani for the second time, after the blockbuster Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. The film also has Gajraj Rao and Supriya Pathak in prominent roles.
July
Yodha (7th july 2023):
Sidharth Malhotra starrer Yodha comes to the theatres in July this year. The film unfolds the story of a soldier who rescues passengers from a hijacked plane. Raashi Khanna and Disha Patani are going to be featured alongside Sidharth Malhotra in the film, which is produced by Dharma Productions.
August
1. Animal (11th August 2023):
Arjun Reddy director Sandeep Reddy Vanga is directing Ranbir Kapoor in Animal which is an action thriller, making it his second Bollywood film. The film has Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead. It also features Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor in prominent roles.
2. Gadar 2 - The Katha Continues (11th August 2023):
Gadar 2 is the sequel to the 2001 hit Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. The hit pair Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel are going to be featured in the periodic action-drama yet again.

Salaar (28th September 2023):
The KGF saga director Prashant Neel is collaborating with the Pan-India star Prabhas for Salaar. The much-awaited movie is releasing in September and also stars Shruti Haasan and Prithviraj Sukumaranopposite Prabhas.
November
Tiger 3 (10th November 2023):
The sequel of Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif's Ek Tha Tiger and Tiger Zinda Hai, Tiger 3 is a much-awaited movie directed by Maneesh Sharma. It also stars Emraan Hashmi. The movie is a spy-action thriller, all set to release for Diwali.
December
1. Sam Bahadur (1st December 2023):
Meghana Gulzar's directorial Sam Bahadur features Vicky Kaushal as Sam Manekshaw, who was the Chief of the Army during the India-Pakistan War in 1971. The biopic also features Fatima Sana Sheikh and Sanya Malhotra in prominent roles.
2. Dunki (22nd December 2023):
SRK and director Rajkumar Hirani pair up for the first time with the movie Dunki. The film unfolds the story of Donkey Flights that Indians illegally use to migrate to foreign countries. It releases in the month of December and features Tapsee Pannu and Boman Irani opposite SRK.
3. BadeMiyan ChoteMiyan (25th December 2023):
Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the multi-starrer BadeMiyan ChoteMiyan features action heroes Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff. Sonakshi Sinha and Manushi Chillar play the female leads in the movie along with Prithviraj Sukumanan as the antagonist.

Ishaan Khatter and Mrunal Sharma starrer Pippa is based on the story of the war fought by Balram Singh Mehta in the east which led to the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971. The movie is set to release this year and also stars Priyanshu Painyuli and Soni Razdan.
2. The Crew
Rhea Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor join hands again for another female-oriented film, after Veere Di Wedding in 2018. The Crew stars Kareena Kapoor, Tabu and Kriti Sanon, which unfolds the stories and struggles faced by cabin crew members of the airline industry.
3. Jaane Jaan
The Bollywood adaptation of The Devotion of Suspect X marks the OTT debut of Kareena Kapoor Khan. The movie also features Vijay Verma and Jaideep Ahlawat. The movie is directed by Kahaani director Sujoy Ghosh and releases on Netflix.
4. Chakda Express
Based on the life of woman cricketer Jhulan Goswami, Chakda Xpress releases on Netflix this year. The movie stars Anushka Sharma in the role of the fast bowler and it is rumoured to be released in December of this year.
5. The Archies
The much-awaited movie of this year is the Indian adaptation of Archies Comics, which is directed by Bollywood director Zoya Akhtar. The film stars debutants Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, Agastya Nanda, Aditi Dot, Vedang Raina, Yuvraj Menda and Mihir Ahuja. The musical releases on Netflix this year.
